All about Boko Haram

Full Name: Boko Haram, officially known as “Jamā’at Ahl as-Sunnah lid-Da’wah wa’l-Jihād” (Group of the People of Sunnah for Preaching and Jihad).

Founded: The group was founded in 2002 by Mohammed Yusuf in Maiduguri, Nigeria.

Ideology: Boko Haram is an extremist Islamist group that opposes Western education and seeks to establish an Islamic state in Nigeria.

Activities: The group is responsible for numerous attacks on civilians, schools, government institutions, and security forces. It is infamous for mass kidnappings, including the abduction of over 270 schoolgirls in Chibok in 2014.
